BACKGROUND
In 2013, several Emergency Medicine physicians were in the process of optimizing and reconfiguring their existing enterprise health records to be more conducive to their practice and clinical documentation. After spending two years of laborious custom developments with clinical analysts and significant resources expended by the hospital system, they discovered that changes necessary to make the EHR align with their practice created a bandwidth issue on the IT system resulting in unbelievably long load times. Fortunately around that same time period, a more advanced protocol was introduced into healthcare which provided an opportunity to build applications that could ‘plug-into’ existing EHR systems. This new symbiotic relationship satisfied the IT department’s desire to utilize an ‘Enterprise EHR System’, and the clinician’s desire to be working on a clinical application that aligns with their workflow and supports their clinical practice.
In late 2016, this new physician documentation application, Medical Professor™ became available to the healthcare market.

DR. STEVEN J. BRUNETTI – PRESIDENT
Dr. Brunetti is the President and Founder of Medical Professor™. In addition to his career as a practicing Emergency Medicine physician, Dr. Bruentti serves as the President and CEO of Comprehensive Professional Reimbursement. Over the course of his career, he has become recognized as an emergency medicine documentation and efficiency expert.
LISA DEPIETRO – VICE PRESIDENT PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Lisa DePietro, founding partner and Vice President of Product Development, brings over 25 years in healthcare administration in documentation integrity, coding, reimbursement, and revenue cycle management. Lisa holds a bachelor of science in health information management from York College of Pennsylvania and attained certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and Health Care Privacy (CHP) through AHIMA. She holds multiple advanced coding credentials through AAPC and serves on the board of directors and advisory boards of professional healthcare organizations and educational facilities.
DAVID F. KOZIEL, JR. – VICE PRESIDENT TECHNOLOGY
David F. Koziel, Jr., founding partner and Vice President of Technology, brings extensive entrepreneurial experience in technology-based endeavors. Drawing on a deep understanding of software development with particular attention to the human-machine interaction, he serves as principal architect and designer of the Medical Professor application. David received his bachelor of science in information technology from Misericordia University, with an additional degree in mathematics.
